Dinning out!

Dinning in restaurants becomes sometimes a bit over the edge. When you go to the trendy ones, the fancy ones, the ones that are on the restaurant guides leading a bunch of cooks and personnel that are trying everyday to be at the top of their game but are not always successful, is when you really start thinking about why guides exist, why points systems are in our market today and why some people with good produce, good dishes and restaurants do not make it there.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s always a reason to explain all my questioning and there’s always answers for that. Hey! At the end of the day we all go to restaurants to enjoy a great meal, a good drink and a entertaining environment.

Sometimes though, this trend ends up in beings just that, a trend. Customers go to restaurants and expend a fortune in a dish and a couple of drinks, don’t get the what service and not always but often, satisfaction is not reached by those serving and looking after their clientele.

It happens everywhere, Europe, the US, South America, in Colombia (where I’m originally from) and always there’s gonna be at least a few restaurants wondering why they didn’t get the desired qualification and a bunch of customers wondering why they went to this so pricey and valued places not to get the value for their money.

I’ve been to a few of those that have been at the top, Australia, Mexico, the US and Colombia, not always have given them a 10 out of 10 but have always appreciated differences, efforts, knowledge and service.

Sooner rather than later, I believe they change their “modus operandi” and show more to their clientele, to the real customer that appreciate the efforts and sacrifices that being at the top comes with.

Always enjoying a great dish paired with a great glass of wine, will thrilled your senses and empower your soul for the next meal.

Buon appetito!

Pan cooked Chicken breast with small yellow mashed potatoes (Criolla potatoes, traditional from Colombia) with cilantro/coriander, blanched asparagus and a yellow curry sauce with sautéed squid rings & baby prawns.
